4 Die At Rivers APC Presidential Rally Stampede

The campaign rally was attended by President Muhammadu Buhari, APC National Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole and Director-General of the Buhari Re-election Campaign Organization, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi.

LEADERSHIP gathered that the victims, three women and a man died when they were struggling to leave the stadium after the event through the pedestrian gate of the sports complex.

It was further gathered that corpses of the victims have been deposited at the morgue of the University of Port Harcourt Teaching

Hospital (UPTH) while scores of others who were wounded during the stampede were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Efforts made by LEADERSHIP to get the reaction of the Police Public Relations Officers (PPRO), Omoni Nnamdi proved abortive as his phone lines rang severally without any response.
