A Diligent Note To Wakilu.
“Muni just don’t get it, Wakilu! Some guys like to listen to their music, admittedly- a bit louder than the next dude. With the bass all the way up, treble almost all the way up too and the Mid just as chunky! She’s killed my musical enthusiasm at home! I am telling you now Waki, the day you marry is the day your musical spirit is in jeopardy! Don’t say no one warned you! The trouble I go through to listen to my music just as I want! My car is my only musical safe-harbor.
You shall enjoy your drive alone someday, without your significant other whining about the high volume or trying to trick you into turning it down. If she’s like Muni, she may proceed to play subtle mental games on you. “Odolaye, are you now an Omo-Eleran?!” The manipulation goes further if and when I tactically ignore her. She goes: “…you know you are a responsible, well-respected member of the esteemed Fiditi City Council?” As if being a Majeobaje of Fiditi means being subjected to the utmost “Sound Of Silence!”
A time shall come in your life, son that the distance between your workplace and home wouldn’t matter much as long as your car stereo is top-notch! Forget about the make or the state of that vehicle! The damn stereo matters more! A short errand drive becomes wilfully extended to accommodate your “freebasing” on music set at a precise volume and at the pitch that perfectly suits your spirit.
Just this morning son, I missed a deadline because the mileage from home to the venue was just too ‘stingy’. I went around the block about five times to get excessively high on DISCO! It got its hook all in me, son! Billy Ocean’s “Stay The Night” on heavy bass and treble was too good to get too soft on. I missed the deadline but caught a good bug! For that Godly reason; I have no regret!
Your mother is awesome, but Muni just don’t get it when it comes to listening to music kinda loud!”
And don’t fall for the “premature deafness” trick either son!
