Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Local Government and Chieftancy Matters, Mr Segun Odusanya, the governor said his administration was making all efforts to reduce insecurity to the barest minimum in the state.

Akeredolu made the call at the presentation of the staff of office to the new monarch of Irese Community, in Ifedore Local Government Area of Ondo State, Oba Ahmed Saka on Thursday.

He also urged the traditional ruler, his counterparts, and the people of the community to join the state government’s developmental agenda of the state.

According to the Akeredolu, the government was making vigorous efforts to ensure that the people of the state were secured, part of which led to the creation of the state security agency, also known as Amotekun Corps.

He said, ” I implore traditional rulers in Ondo State to henceforth go the extra mile in providing community policing for the security of lives of their people. Our people should earnestly watch and report strange faces and movements in our communities to the appropriate law enforcement agents so that, together we can eradicate the menace of insecurity in our land.

“We have passed and signed the law against open grazing. We hope that with the steps taken so far and the present level of investment in security, the issue of criminality in our forest will be a thing of the past.
