The Social Democratic Party (SDP) governorship candidate in Niger State, Alhaji Mahmood Sani, has said that all hands must be on deck to bring a stop to election rigging.
Sani stated this at the launch of the national secretariat of ‘Voters Club Of Nigeria (VCN)’ over the weekend in Abuja. He said the VCN is becoming a household name in Nigeria with its presence in every state, local government areas and many wards across the country.
He added, “This criminal behavior perpetrated by some unscrupulous and desperate politicians amongst us is not only denigrating and psychologically traumatising, it is malicious in all ramifications and as such calls for an all-encompassing solution to bring an end to it.

“Election rigging constitutes, election irregularities ranging from ballot box stuffing, or snatching, multiple voting, underage voting, mutilation of ballot papers, intimidation and direct attack on voters,” he said.
According to him, all hands must be on deck to bring a stop to rigging, vote buying and all forms of electoral violence in Nigeria.
“Having been abreast with these and more methods used in rigging, we at VCN have pondered over a number of strategies to combat these nefarious and debasing acts.”
In his remarks: The national coordination of VCN, Uche Mbachu said, “ VCN have been monitoring election preparatory process and we are taking note of all the rigging plans for 2019 election, but we want to assure Nigerians that we also have our strategy to outsmart any plans for rigging.
“To monitor rigging, we are going to send members of the VCN, two each to polling units across the country.”
