Candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have cleared all three Senate and six House of Representatives seats in Ekiti State.
In the results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday, the APC candidate for Ekiti Central Senatorial District, Hon. Michael Opeyemi Bamidele polled 94,279 to defeat Mr. Obafemi Adewale of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 48,707 votes.
In Ekiti North Senatorial District, APC candidate, Senator Olubunmi Adetumbi, garnered 60,688 votes to defeat the incumbent PDP Senator Duro Faseyi, who polled 49,209 votes.
Senator Biodun Olujimi of the PDP who scored 53,741 in the polls lost the seat to the APC candidate, Prince Adedayo Adeyeye who polled 77, 621 votes in Ekiti South Senatorial District contest.

Also, APC candidates, Hon. Yemi Adaramodu and Olanrewaju Ibrahim were also declared winners of the House of Representatives seats for Ekiti South constituency 1 and Ekiti North constituency II respectively.
Adaramodu emerged winner with a total number of 41,864 votes against 24,707 votes scored by the PDP candidate, Hon. Segun Adekola.
Olanrewaju, who is the APC candidate in Ekiti North constituency II, polled 29,388 votes to defeat Olusola Omotoso of the PDP who scored 23,684 votes.
Immediately the news filtered into town, Bamidele, who was in the lower chambers of the National Assembly between 2011 and 2015, in company party supporters stormed Iyin Ekiti to celebrate with the electorate.
