Speaking at the occasion, Total E&P Nigeria Limited Director, Corporate Affairs and Services, Mr. Abiodun Afolabi said his contact with the President, Para-powerlifting Federation of Nigeria, Queen Uboh was the turning point for the firm to be part of the sport.

“For three months my life changed for the better because the federation president opened my eyes to so many things that we take for granted. The great thing about this competition is that it fits into one of the major axis of Total Oil’s corporate social responsibility.

“It is what we call the inclusion. Inclusion means that everybody should get that opportunity to work in the environment that we are to excel in anyway we can. This competition, which unfortunately I didn’t have the chance to spend much time watching has shown me that in spite of one’s situation, one can excel and it doesn’t dictate the outcome,” he said.

While commending the athletes for making the country proud, Afolabi said, “These are rightfully the ‘Unstoppables’ and we are very proud to have the opportunity to sponsor this competition. I will like to thank the Para-powerlifting federation for choosing Nigeria and giving us this opportunity to host the competition in this great nation, great city of Lagos.”
