Another meeting to broker peace between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, has ended in another deadlock.

The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the party met Wike on Tuesday in a  closed-door meeting that lasted for at least four hours.  At the end of the meeting, the Acting Chairman of the BoT, Adolphus Wabara, declared the meeting inconclusive.

He said, “This is more so as Saraki’s successor, Senator Ahmad Lawan, is listed as a recipient of the award.

He, however, said that the seven-member BoT, who met with the Governor at the Government House, Port Harcourt, achieved some progress.

Speaking after about four hours of discussion, Wabara said: “We have not concluded. Making peace is difficult. But we have heard from his side. The family remains one. We shall achieve peace very soon.”

Wike and four of his colleague-governors have been pressing for the resignation of the party’s national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu for the return of normal to the party. Atiku has refused to accede to the demand of the wike group, the reason for the stalemate in the peace talk which has lingered since June.
