A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja has reaffirmed its earlier judgement in August last year validating the election of Daniel Madueke Nwafor as theĀ Imo State chairman of the All Progressives Congress ( APC).
In his ruling on an application of a contempt of court against the national chairman of the APC, Comrade Adams Oshimohole and the APC, brought before him, the presiding judge , Justice O.A MusaĀ of Court 13 Bwari ruled that the judgement confirming Nwafor as substantive chairmanĀ is still substituting until it is set aside, adding that the Nwafor led executives were dully elected officers of the party.
Adams Oshiomhole had on December 18th of 2018 in a letter ordered the dissolution of Nwafor led executives replacing it with a caretaker committee led by Marcilinious Nlemigbo.

The letter reads in part, āThe National Working Committee (NWC) at its 36th regular meeting of Tuesday 18thĀ December , 2018 having considered the above development in the party in Imo State, resolved to dissolve the entire state, local andĀ ward executives committee of the party with immediate effect. You are in the light of the forgoing hereby directed to handover all assets and documents of the party to the leadership of the caretaker committee set up to oversee the affairs of the party in the state.ā
However, reacting to the ruling, counsel to Nwafor , BarĀ Chidozie OgunjiĀ described the ruling as perfect . He said, āWe are here in court to ask Adams Oshiomhole not to disobey the court, in fact for the court to make pronouncement that the national chairman should obey the court judgement.Ā Ā What the judge did was to call for the parties to respect and obey the court judgement and this is what we have canvassed for.ā
The court had adjourned till March 20th to determine a suit challenging the jurisdiction of the court to hear the matter.
