David Goffin defeated Nick Kyrgios 6-7 (4/7), 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 as Belgium levelled their Davis Cup semi-final against Australia at 2-2 on Sunday to take the tie into a deciding rubber.

With a place in the November 24-26 final at stake, Australia skipper Lleyton Hewitt gambled by bringing in Jordan Thompson to replace John Millman.

World number 70 Thompson will face veteran Steve Darcis, ranked seven places below him, in the match to decide who faces France in the final.

France earlier defeated Serbia in Lille in their semi-final.
