Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku has declared a dusk to dawn curfew in Jalingo, state capital following the tension that bedeviled the collation of the governorship election results in the state.

The press secretary to the governor of Taraba State, Hassan Mijinyawa disclosed this in a statement to the press.

“The Taraba State government has imposed dusk to dawn curfew on Jalingo, the state capital from today, Monday 11th of March 2019 until further notice.

“The curfew will run from 6pm to 6am daily. However, some INEC officials, key agents of political parties and observers involved in collation of elections results are exempted.

“Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku has enjoined the people of the state to continue to be law abiding as he urges security agencies to ensure strict compliance’’, the statement said.

Meanwhile, collation the governorship election results were ongoing at the time of the curfew.
