Antonio Conte, Jurgen Klopp and Arsene Wenger all paid their respects to Sir Alex Ferguson yesterday as the former Manchester United boss continues to recover from emergency surgery, reports standard.co.uk.
Ferguson, 76, underwent surgery for a brain hemorrhage on Saturday and remains in intensive care.
Following Chelsea’s 1-0 win over Liverpool yesterday, both Klopp and Conte admitted they had been left in disbelief when they heard the initial news of Ferguson and sent their warmest wishes to him as he battles to get better in hospital.
Klopp asked reporters at Stamford Bridge whether there had been an update to Ferguson’s condition before saying: “I met Sir Alex after our first leg against Roma, together with Gerard Houllier.
“I had a few words with him. When I heard it yesterday on the way to London, I couldn’t believe it.
“But this can happen to all of us. He was last night and will be in my prayers. I wish him and his family all the best. He will be in good shape again, and I’m looking forward to seeing him again.”

Conte, who spoke to journalists after Klopp, admitted news of Ferguson’s condition had left him “sad” because he has been able to know the ex-United manager well since arriving in England two years ago.
“My reaction… When this type of situation happens, I’m very sad. Very sad because I have had the possibility to know him, him and his wife, and to understand that this is a special person,” Conte said.
“Not a normal person. As a manager he won many titles in his career. I appreciate a lot the man. This news changed my day in a bad way.
“But we hope. We hope to see him quickly and to have our best wishes to him to recover very, very soon. Now it’s very difficult. We want to stay very close to his family.”

Over in north London, and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger – who took charge of his final home game as Gunners boss – said: “I was with him on the pitch last week.
“I went to see him in the box after the game. He looked in perfect shape. He told me he’s doing a lot of exercise. He looked very happy.
“That kind of accident can happen. We wish him well and to recover very quickly. He’s a strong man. He’s an optimistic man. But nobody knows exactly what it is.”
