Popular veteran afrobeat musician and one-half of the Lijadu sisters dies at 71.
Renowned veteran Nigerian afrobeat singer-songwriter died today.
In a chat with Bimbo Esho, Managing Director of Evergreen Music, Infotrust received the news that the musician died after a long battle with stroke.

The Lijadu sisters, Taiwo and Kehinde Lijadu, are identical twins and were a Nigerian music duet from the mid-1960s to the 1980s. They were cousins of the popular Nigerian afrobeat musician, Fela Kuti.
They are known for their evergreen classics; Orere Elejigbo, Danger, Mother Africa, Horizon Unlimited, Double trouble, Iya Mi Jowo and Sunshine.
The entire music industry mourns the passage of Taiwo Lijadu for her immense contribution to the Nigerian music industry.
