The governorship candidate of African Democratic Congress (ADC) for Oyo State, Senator Olufemi Lanlehin, at the weekend assured local contractors he would utilise their services in project executions to uplift the state’s economy and improve the people’s lives.

Speaking at the rally in Ogbomoso, Lanlehin promised to embark on projects that will impact the citizens’ lives positively.

He said: “We will construct roads using our local contractors, in the same way we will build and renovate our schools. Our market men and women will be granted interest-free loans to revive their businesses.”

Lanlehin said having once served as the Pro Chancellor and Chairman of Council of the Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso, he knew the challenges facing the institution, and would address it upon becoming governor.

Similarly, Oyo North ADC Senatorial candidate, Chief Bayo Lawal vowed to ensure completion of the Oyo-Ogbomoso-Ilorin road to ease the trauma commuters experience, as well as provide employment opportunities for the youths.

When the guber candidate paid them courtesy visits, the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Jimoh Oyewumi, and Onipetu of Ijeru, Oba Oladapo Oyediran, both called on politicians to eschew violence and engage in issue based campaigns.
