A University known as the Lutheran University of Nigeria (LUN), is to established in Adamawa state, to produce people with integrity, that would govern the country in future.
Archbishop, Panti Filibus, the president of the Lutheran world federal, made the assertion Thursday in Demsa , at the annual national convention of the church.
Filibus said, the institution when fully established, would benefit not only the church, but the larger society, by enrolling students, who would graduates as clerics and God fearing citizens, to curtail prevailing challenges in the country.
Filibus said the university would serve as alternative, to the failing standard of education, as well as complement government efforts, in admitting students.
A committee has been constituted, where step-by -step procedures requirement, to ensure the implementation of the projects is brought to reality.
“The university when established would serve as a way of transformation of lives of the people.
The LCCN he said had initiated May 21 every for it tree planting campaigns for fellowship of churches, to ensure promotion against desertification encroachment.
The clergy who lamented the increasing number of indiscriminate people cutting trees for firewood, as means of livelihood, urged on government to be proactive in addressing the menace.
“We called on government to take drastic action in addressing the challenges of environmental degradation.
” Government and INEC is expected to fulfill their, promisees to Nigerian by ensuring level playing ground for all free and credible election”. The clergy added.
