The Social Democratic Party (SDP) has said that its presidential ticket is no longer contentious following the Appeal Court judgment of Thursday, January 24, 2019, which affirmed Mr Donald Duke as the duly elected presidential candidate of the party.
The party also said that although it lost quality campaign time while the litigation lasted, it was; however, ready to embark on its presidential campaigns within the remaining days to the February 16 election.
Addressing a press conference at the national headquarters of the party in Abuja, yesterday, the national chairman of SDP, Chief Olu Falae, said both Prof Jerry Gana and Donald Duke had earlier agreed to abide by the decision of the Appeal Court.
“We regret that quality time has been lost.

We shall make maximum use of the remaining time,” Falae assured even as he pointed out that time was critical to the overall performance of contestants and the party.
He also noted that there is no loser or winner in the legal tussle over the party’s presidential ticket, saying all party members are winners as no one will be sanctioned over their conduct.
“All of us are winners. Prof Jerry Gana, His Excellency Donald Duke, the SDP as a party and all indefatigable members of our party nationwide are winners.
“No doubt, the party has been ‘shaken, but not stirred’ by the internal wrangling that accompanied the case. Now is the time to put all these behind us. It is time to look ahead and strategise. It is time for us to embrace each other and stand up for the party,” Falae said.
