Northern CAN Calls For Peaceful Elections

The Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), 19 Northern States and Abuja, Rev. Dr ,Yakubu Pam has  enjoined Christians across Nigeria and particularly the North to adhere to the call for peaceful 2019 elections.

The Chairman made the call at the first quarter prayer meeting of the association with the theme: “Towards a Peaceful & Successful

Organic Creame

Violence-Free 2019 Elections” which held in Abuja yesterday.

The Prayers which was attended by all elected Christian legislators and political appointees and office holders in government had 3 areasof focus, including “Peaceful, Successful and Violence Free 2019 elections, transparent and non-rigging/fraudulent election results as

well as unity, irrespective of denominational, party affiliations andpolitical preferences”.

In his remarks, the Chairman quoting from 1 Timothy 2:1-4 said

according to Paul’s Reasoning, we wnt a government that allows us to live “peaceful and quite lives”, Ultimately freeing us to evangeliseto those who are lost. Adding that praying for the electoral process

is the first step in seeing the fulfilment of what Paul is writing about to Timothy.

“I don’t believe we should wait for a leader to be selected before we move into obedient prayer for those in authority. In prayer, we invite the Lord into the process of electing those leaders who will ultimately allow us to lead “peaceful and quite lives in all Godliness and holiness”.
