NSITF honours agencies for compliance with compensation scheme

The Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) has given awards to the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), and other organisations in recognition for their compliance with the provisions of the Employees’ Compensation Scheme (ECS).

While presenting the award to the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of AMCON, Ahmed Lawan Kuru, who was represented by the Manager, Credit Department of the organisation, Nina Adibe, the Managing Director, NSITF, Adebayo Somefun congratulated the corporation for being among the most compliant organisations in the scheme.

He urged all the winning companies to keep up the good work and called on other companies that are yet to key into the ECS to acquaint themselves with the Employee Compensation Act 2010 and the ECS, as well as the activities of NSITF.

Receiving the award plaque later in his office, the AMCON boss said that he was humbled by the honour and recognition from NSITF, which depicts AMCON’s dedication to the advancement of every project that is in the interest of Nigerians.

He promised that the award would reenergize AMCON to keep doing what is right while pursuing its recovery mandate without fear or favour.

Explaining the criteria for the selection of the awardees, NSITF said that the gesture was a way of appreciating the firms that have kept faith with the ECS. 

They reiterated, that the recipients of the awards, showed outstanding compliance to the ECS, and are worthy of emulation by all companies operating in the country.

Other organisations that received awards were the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC), and Abuja Electric Distribution Company (AEDC).
