The leadership of the Taraba State chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), yesterday, urged youths to engage in acts that promote peace.

The chairman of the union, Jovita Shafe, made the call at the Peace and Economic Summit by the Taraba State Peoples Democracy Party (PDP) Youth Elites Forum (YEF).

He said the present crop of Nigerian youths had all it takes to catapult the country to greater height. He also appealed to traditional institutions, religious leaders and politicians to promote peace in their domains.†

In his paper, ëHarnessing Youthful Talents for Sustainable Development’, a university lecturer, Dr. Etemi Joseph Garba, advised youths to imbibe the culture of saving.

Earlier, the state chairman of the forum, Mallam Ibrahim Munka’il Belle, said the group was overwhelmed with joy to see that an enabling atmosphere was being created for robust industrialisation in the state.
