Police rescue village head, three others from abductors

The police in Niger State, yesterday, said they rescued Malam Haruna Gizo, the village head of Unguwan Gizo of Kagara Local Government Area of the state and three others abducted on November 21.

The Commissioner of Police (CP) in the state, Mr. Austine Agbonlahor, told†the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Minna that they were rescued during a joint operation by the Kagara police and a vigilance group from Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

He said the command was taking proactive measures to deal with any form of security threat, to enable residents do their legitimate businesses.
