Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo has secured a three year contract for a physically challenged artist, Samuel Aigbodion who performed at the Alaghodaro concert in November 2018, held to mark the Governor’s second year in office.
The Commissioner for Art, Culture and Diaspora, Hon. Osazee Osemwegie-Ero disclosed this while addressing journalists on the fulfilment of the governor’s promise at government house in Benin on Friday.
He said that the contract was worth N10 million and would cover, production of music video, accommodation, car and other logistics that will ensure Aigbodion became successful in the Music Industry.
Osemwegie-Ero said Samuel Aigbodion known as Razalee played a good music during the Alahodaro concert to mark the Governor’s two years in office and the Governor pledged N10 million to support the artist.

“The money is to help him secure musical contract for that amount and Slize entertainment was contacted from Lagos to set up a plan on how to utilize the money and enable him succeed.
“We appreciate the Governor who keeps to his promise. This is being done for a physically challenged person.
“As a Ministry we will be here to work with Slize entertainment to ensure during these three years period, the artist is established and made a fulfill person”.
The manager Slize entertainment Lagos Ode Paul Usegbe commended the Edo Government for the gesture stressing that the act was unprecedented.
“This gesture is commendable and it’s an act of giving back to the society.
“It is more heart warming when it involves a disabled person. We are here to brand him and introduce him to the industry”.
Appreciating the Governor, the artist, Samuel Aigbodion, said he would not let the people of Edo down.
“My aim is to project Edo, that persons with disability can make a difference in the state.
“We are stepping into the Music Industry full time to project Edo to the world”.
