New Year Message: Reject APC In 2019

A good governance advocacy group within the All Progressives Congress (APC), the Rivers Unity House (RUH), has declared that the outcome of the just-concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections in Rivers State has exposed the lies about the victory of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state in 2015.

Organic Creame

RUH, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt yesterday by its Convener, Kingsley Wenenda Wali, stated that the 2015 victory of the PDP in the state was built on blood of Rivers people and absurdities, saying that victory has collapsed.

The statement reads in part: “After how much energy & resource you put into a false project, because it is built on nothing honorable an altruistic, it will collapse one day. Goliath was a lie and it collapsed. The wall of Jericho was a lie and it collapsed. To cut a long story short, Rivers PDP’s 2015 victory was a lie, built on Rivers of blood and absurdities and it too has collapsed.

“It is the story of the triumph of good over evil. Suddenly, Rivers voters have refused to vote despite the painful plethora of non-strategic “Projects” littered all over the place. We are saying thank you to Riverians for the giant strides taken by the telling statement of not falling for cheap lie. It doesn’t matter that there are more voters in Andoni than the city of Port Harcourt. Or that their are more voters in Rumueprikom than Woji. This lie, too, shall pass.

“In 2015, over 1.5 million people were said to have endorsed the PDP as a a way of showing their disapproval of the “lackluster” Amaechi years. Yet, in 2019, less than a quarter of that number came out to pass a vote of confidence on the same PDP government that can now be rightly identified as a phantom projects and debt government. How else do you define paradox?

“Until 2019, I was under the erroneous impression that the people come out to endorse those who have done well. Is that not so? After all, the Ikwerre people say that when you show gratitude and appreciation for the good works of a worthy son, brother or friend, he will do more. Or are we saying that we don’t want more project?

“Well, I guess the good people of Ward 9 in Obio-Akpor and the people of Andoni local government areas of Rivers state, are the ones who appreciate how to say thank you. In case you don’t know, the people of Ward 9 in Obio-Akpor LGA, gave the PDP one third of the total votes in both the presidential and National Assembly elections in that LGA.

“What a sin thing !!! This truth shall be tested too in the coming days. The truth of how they “won” but lost will be told the world over, sooner than they had ever imagined.

They won an election that technically was not contested. They got the court to banish the APC and stopped the Rivers APC from canvassing for votes, yet the Rivers APC is performing better electorally than when they were in government in 2015? How do you interpret this phenomenon? Reverse osmosis?

“It is either that the lie of 2015 has been stunningly exposed or the real voters and candidates were those that were technically and unlawfully excluded. Or maybe the sea of red and green gele wearing entertainers on tour were fatigued by the circus and therefore too tired to come out to vote. A case of I can’t COMAN DIE for what I don’t even know.

“The summary is that a big fat lie has been exposed. And this is despite the psychological frame of the APC supporters. These are supporters who were told that the candidates who they freely nominated to go and represent them are not going to be on the ballot.

“Who enthusiastically gets involved in the electoral process with that kind of emotion? Who? Barred from campaign and despondent, while PDP’s paid campaigners are the ones that had a field day campaigning with tons of freebees, but could only muster about 10% of the registered voters to say yea to them?”
