……but for insubordination and disregard for extant law
Contrary to reports in most media that the Federal Government suspended the Comptroller General of Nigeria Immigration Service, Mr David Parradang due to the issuance of visa to terrorist, Info Trust reliably gathered that the report is not only false but a mere conjecture.
He was suspended on account of “deliberate disregard to extant laws, insubordination to constituted authority and improper behavior inimical to the Service that is unbecoming of a public officer.
A letter signed by Ibrahim, A. A of the Civil Defence, Immigration and Prisons Services Board, Ministry of Interior, dated August 21, 2015, ref CDFIPB/IMM/348/Vol. 1//54 read in part, “I am directed to inform you that you have been found to have issue out letters of appointment of seven hundred (700) Assistant Inspectors of Immigration and Nine hundred (900) Immigration Assistants into the Nigeria Immigration Service without approval; and you refused to take necessary measures to correct the wrong doing despite repeated advice given to you as conveyed in letters Reference no FMI/PSO/001/III/402, of 11th June, 2015 and Ref No FMI/PSO/001/III/411 of 14th June, 2015.
Thus the letter informed him of his immediate suspension and direct him to hand over to the most senior officer while awaiting further instructions.
