In an interview with journalists after the declaration, Jiba, a former Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), said he was excited for his success at the polls.

He commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting a free and fair election.

The rep-elect promised to carry everybody along and to be a worthy representative of the people irrespective of creed or political affiliation.

“I am very happy, this is not the first time that I am emerging as a winner but I am seeing this victory as new.

“I will make sure I carry everybody along because I have that believe power comes from God and God has given it to me today and tomorrow it might be someone else.

“I want to assure all my fellow contestants that I will carry them along,” he said.

On the process of the election, Jiba said that the outcome of the election beat the expectations of many constituents.

The Rep-elect said that the process was satisfactory and that there was no news of violence.

He said that both the electorate and candidates had witnessed a credible election.
