The Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the successful rescue of Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, who were abducted in Ibadan, Oyo State.
According to a statement issued on Saturday by the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Anthony Okon Placid, the victims were rescued during a coordinated operation carried out by operatives of the Force Intelligence Department–Intelligence Response Team (FID-IRT), Ibadan, at about 7:30 p.m.
The victims were reportedly kidnapped on June 3, 2026, at approximately 7:30 a.m. while Mrs. Adegoke was taking her children to school. Police identified her as the younger sister of a former Minister of Power.
The Force said the rescue followed sustained intelligence gathering, surveillance, and tactical operations that enabled investigators to track the movement of the kidnappers and locate their hideout.

During a confrontation between the operatives and the suspected kidnappers, two suspects were fatally shot, while two rifles were recovered from the scene.
The police confirmed that the victims were rescued unharmed and are currently receiving medical attention and necessary support.
Commending the officers involved in the operation, the Inspector-General of Police praised the courage, professionalism, and effectiveness of the FID-IRT operatives and other personnel who participated in the rescue mission.
The Force also disclosed that security operatives have intensified efforts to apprehend other members of the kidnapping syndicate who escaped during the operation.
Reaffirming its commitment to combating violent crime and ensuring public safety, the Nigeria Police Force urged members of the public with useful information on the whereabouts of the fleeing suspects to contact the nearest police station or the Force helpline.
