Popular Gospel Singer Toun Soetan Dies After Prolonged Illness

Another prominent Nigerian gospel musician, Toun Soetan, has died.

Her passing comes barely a week after the death of Taiwo Adegbodu, one of the famed Adegbodu twins.
According to reports, Evangelist Soetan died on Friday after a prolonged battle with illness.

The late gospel minister would have turned 73 on June 18, 2026.
She had earlier celebrated her 70th birthday on June 18, 2024, at Orita-Mefa Baptist Church in Ibadan, where a seven-hour praise session was held in her honour.

Evangelist Soetan was widely known for some of her inspirational gospel songs, including Darling Jesus and On The Mountain.

Further details about her death are expected to be announced later.
