Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Mr. Ibrahim Magu, on Tuesday declined an interview on the raid his operatives carried out on the houses of a former Governor of Lagos, Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode, on Tuesday.

Magu said he would not comment on the issue because the anti-graft agency already issued a clarification earlier in the day that the operatives visited the home of Ambode’s former Chief of Staff and not that of the former governor.

The said chief of staff has since said EFCC did not raid his own house, but the houses of his ex-boss, Ambode.

Magu was accosted by State House Correspondents at the venue of the retreat for ministers-designate at the Conference Centre of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Magu quickly walked away from reporters, declining an interview on the basis of the raid and the ongoing investigation of Ambode’s administration. [PUNCH]
