Buhari,a former member of the House of Reps and commissioner for local government and chieftaincy matter in Oyo state was elected into the Senate house in 2015 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress APC. The empowerment programme which was held at OYSADEP Stadium Saki in Oke Ogun, had in attendance dignitaries from all walks of life including the state executives of the party led by its deputy chairman, Alhaji Isiaka Alimi and other party leaders in the state.
Items distributed at the empowerment progarmm includes 16 cars 300 motorcyle , 273 sewing machines, 637 grinding machines, 142 generators,25 deep freezer, 12 tricycles and 55 spraying well for farmers in the state
While recounting his achievements since he assumed office, Sen Buhari listed getting approval for roads projects including hitherto abandoned Ogbomoso- Oyo road, maintenance of the old road, rehabilitation of Iseyin-Okeho road, as well as getting award letters for Otu-Ipapo road, Okeho- Iganna road and Agunrege-Irawo road.
Others include provision of wide area network for Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Ogbomoso, provision of tertiary virtual library for schools of Nursing and Midwifery Kishi, getting approval for school of Nursing and Midwifery Kishi, provision of knowledge access venue (KAV), ICT with chairs and table and other materials for 8 schools across the constituency.
Buhari also listed provision of free medical checkup for with drugs worth millions of naira to over 10, 000 people of Oke Ogun, training of over 10, 000 women and youth, N25,000 to 20 widows and disbursement of N25, 000 bursary award to 20 indigents students of Oke Ogun.

The deputy governor of the state, Chief Alake Adeyemo who represented the governor of Oyo State disclosed that the empowerment program is unprecedented in the state and expresses doubt if any lawmaker has even done something of such magnitude within the space of one year in the history of Nigeria.

The APC Vice chairman, Alhaji Isiaka Alimi who led other executive members of the party to the event said, ‘We in APC are happy that our senator is doing this at these moment when the economic situation is not friendly ,you are making us proud and we pray that God will continue to bless you and take you to greater height”
Chief Wale Arowomole, senatorial leader of the APC in Oyo North commended the senator for representing them well at the upper chamber of the national assembly.
Chairman Oke Ogun Farmers Association; Chief Goke Oyetunji was a beneficiary. “The spraying machine my association got from this empowerment program will go a long way in boosting our productivity because it is needed during this season, we are in a plating season and this machine will assist us in spraying chemicals in our farms.
Also the chairman Oke Ogun Federated Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Prince Azeez Semiu while receiving the Honda Accord bus key from the Senator lauds the support and declared that it would help them in community journalism and information dissemination to the people at the grassroots level.
