Seven More Suspected Cultists Held Over Mutilated Body Found With Osun herbalist

The Osun State Security Network, also known as Amotekun Corps, has said seven more suspects have been arrested in connection with a mutilated corpse found in the custody of a native doctor, Ganiyu Wasiu, in Igege town.

Residents suspicious of Wasiu’s movement had alerted security agents and held him till men of the Amotekun Corps arrived at the scene.

A video clip of the scene of the crime showed the suspect bringing out the mutilated body in a bag, as a crowd beat him with sticks.

The suspect, while denying involvement in ritual killings, cursed the people he said set him up.

Giving an update on the incident during an interview with PUNCH Metro on Sunday, the Field Commander, Amotekun Corps, Osun State, Amitolu Shittu, said apart from Wasiu, also held was an accomplice, Muzzat Wasiu, said to be living with him.

Shittu said seven more suspects arrested in Iwo town in connection with the crime and the two initially arrested (Ganiyu and Muzzat) were handed over to the Osun State Command of the Department of State Services for further action.

We have handed the suspects and exhibits to the DSS for further action. We initially arrested two suspects, namely Ganiyu Wasiu and Muizzat,” he added.
