The Governing Council of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED) has approved the appointment of Samuel Ekundayo Oladipo as the institution’s new Vice-Chancellor.
His appointment makes him the 3rd indigenous Vice-Chancellor and the 6th substantive Vice-Chancellor of the university. He is scheduled to assume office on May 5, 2026.
The announcement was made at the end of a council meeting by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Rahamon Adisa Bello, who described Oladipo’s emergence as a product of merit, dedication, and commitment to the university’s founding ideals.
Oladipo, a Professor of Social Psychology and a pioneer faculty member of the institution, joined the then Tai Solarin College of Education in 1999 before its transition to a university in 2005. He attained the rank of professor in 2014.

Before his appointment, he held several key positions within the university, including Chairman of the University Result Vetting Board, Pioneer Director of the Directorate of Research and External Relations, and Pioneer Dean of the College of Specialized and Professional Education. He also served as Deputy Director at the Directorate of Academic Planning, Quality Assurance and Research, and Sub-Dean of the College of Applied Education and Vocational Technology.
Beyond TASFUED, Oladipo has held academic engagements at Adekunle Ajasin University and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at North-West University. He is also a recipient of the National Research Fund.
A prolific scholar, he has authored more than 70 peer-reviewed journal articles, edited 10 academic books, and contributed to numerous book chapters, alongside writing over 15 Christian books. His recent research, supported by TETFund, focused on developing psycho-educational counselling interventions for survivors of child sexual abuse in Nigeria.
Oladipo’s research interests include spirituality and health, help-seeking behaviour, gender-based violence, child abuse, and psychological scale development. He is affiliated with several professional bodies, including the American Psychological Association and the Psychological Association of Nigeria.
Born on June 29, 1969, in Akinmoorin, Oyo State, Oladipo is also a pastor and is known for his administrative discipline and academic contributions. He is married to Christianah P. Oladipo, and the union is blessed with children.
