The former senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu Sani, has said he escaped terrorist explosives while on the Abuja-Kaduna rail line.
Sani stated this in a tweet via his verified handle on Thursday, saying that it “took a miracle” for him and other passengers on the train to escape.
He also claimed that terrorists shot at the train on Wednesday in a separate attack.

Sani tweeted, “Yesterday, terrorists attacked the Kaduna Abuja railway with an explosive & opened fire on the train, targeting the Engine Driver & the Tank,”

“This morning, I was on board when our train ran over another explosive [and it] damaged [the] rail. It took a miracle for us to escape.
However, there are no reports that corroborate the former senator’s account of Wednesday’s incident.
A Facebook post by Garba Muhammad who claimed to be on the train stated that it only developed a fault, leaving passengers stranded for six hours.
“It is 1:46 am, train approaching Rigasa, after over six hours in the train from Abuja-Kaduna that developed fault about 40km to KD.
“One needs to be in the train to appreciate the panic, stress, anxiety, and hunger,” Muhammad said.
