The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has no intention of sacking Super Eagles Manager, Gernot Rohr, no matter the outcome of the country’s participation in the on-going Russia 2018 World Cup.
The federation yesterday clarified that the coach was employed to build a virile team for Nigeria, adding that it was looking beyond the 2018 World Cup.

NFF First Vice President, Seyi Akinwunmi, told journalists yesterday that Rohr has met part of his mandate, which is to build a young virile team, adding that the federation will continue to support his efforts to make Nigeria one of the power houses of international football.
“After the first match, we met with the coach to review the match. We know the team could do better and we are trying to help them to get things right.
‘’We have full confidence in Rohr’s ability and we believe he is the only one that can get things right.
‘’We gave the coach an additional two-year contract recently because we see in him the quality to build a quality team for us.’’
Akinwunmi reiterated NFF’s desire to see the Super Eagles in the later stages of the World Cup, adding that the team would get their full entitlement if they qualified for the second round.
“Despite Saturday’s loss to Croatia, we have resolved to pay them their full bonus once they qualify for the second round,” he stated.
