Train Collides With Passenger Bus In Ilupeju, Lagos

A disaster that could have claimed lives was averted on Tuesday when a train accident occurred at Ilupeju Bye-pass area of Lagos State, POLITICS NIGERIA reports.

This online news medium learned that a Toyota Hiace bus with registration number EKY 888 XW and a train had a collision. The cause of the incident was due to the reckless driving of the bus driver.

Further information gathered at the scene revealed that all vehicles were stopped at the railway crossing, but the driver refused to obey the traffic officers at the scene, thereby ramming into the moving train.

Fortunately, there is no record of loss of lives, but two male adults sustained injury and were administered first aid treatment by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) paramedics before being transferred to a public medical facility for further medical attention.

The bus was subsequently recovered off the railway with the aid of the LASEMA’s light tow-truck and was taken to Railway Police Station, Mushin.

Other responders at the scene were the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) officers and Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Corps.
