Why PMB Deserves Second Term – Fashola, Bello

The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola and his FCT counterpart, Mallam Muhammad Musa Bello, have told Nigerians that by virtue of the progress recorded in critical areas of the economy by the Buhari administration in three years, the President deserves re-election to complete his achievements in the interest of Nigeria’s future.

Both ministers in their separate speeches at the Abuja town hall meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) organised by the Buhari/Osinbajo Next Level Task force argued that the President has laid the desired solid foundation of a vibrant future for the country urged the gathering of party faithful to go all out with their PVCs for the re-election of President Buhari and his Vice, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.

Fashola ,who was of the philosophical view that for any good thing to be achieved, one must pay the price of experiencing some discomfort, said the government is not unaware of the difficulties being faced by Nigerians, adding that with the economic plans being implemented by government at the moment, such difficulties are meant to give way to sustained prosperity in the near future.

He said some of the elites fell apart with government policies such as the ban on rice importation and the Single Treasury Account, TSA which are targeted at encouraging local production, employment as well as transparency and accountability in public revenue collection and spending respectively because they are not interested in the future of the country.

“What the government has done now is foundation building, given where we were as at 2015, by committing to addressing those challenges -corruption, insecurity, etc. that have stifled growth and development in the past, so that your money can now work for you.

“The next 4 years will witness the building of the superstructure of prosperity. So every Nigerian has a role to play by giving the APC government another 4 years,” Fashola urged.

On his part, the FCT minister who recalled the situation in Abuja about 5 years ago said if Nigerians remember how they were living in fear and staying away from public places back then because of the rampant deadly attacks such as that of the UN building, Bannex Plaza, Nyanya, etc., and compare then with the security they enjoy in the area now, “they will realise why the President deserves another 4-year mandate to complete the good he has started”.
