A woman who is apparently fed up with what she called her husband’s lack of integrity has asked a court to end their union over his failure to pay outstanding balance of her dowry.
The case is being heard at a Magajin Gari Shari’a Court in Kaduna.
The housewife, Zuwaira Abdulaziz, told the court that Musa Dantsoho only gave N7,000 out of the agreed N20,000 dowry before their marriage.
She said he had promised to pay her the outstanding N13,000 later.
It was gathered that the pair did not disclose this to her parents.

“I never told my parents that he didn’t pay the complete dowry because I trusted him; unknown to me, he is a man with no integrity,” she told the court.
She asked the court to dissolve the marriage through `Khul’i, a permission granted wife to initiate divorce in Islam.
It was further learned Zuwaira promised to return the N7,000 as dowry to her husband.
But the husband denied the allegation.
Dantsoho said he had since paid his wife the outstanding N13,000 as dowry.
He was then made to swear to an oath over his claim, according to reports.
The Khadi, Malam Dahiru Lawal, in his judgment, ended the marriage and ordered Zuwaira to return the N20,000 paid as her dowry.
