The World Quality Alliance has stressed the need for quality, as the differentiating factor for better competitive advantage for businesses in an increasingly tough economic environment.

It is, therefore, held that companies and organisations that must gain acceptability and survive the future, must inculcate the right quality culture in their entire operations.

Experts in quality assurance said with increased competition and complexity of the global market, firms should think differently and inspire their employees by devising new means of achieving set quality goals.

Country director of World Quality Alliance, Desmond Esorougwe, said this in Lagos as part of activities to announce the 2018 World Quality Summit with the theme: Quality As The Basis For Excellence, Leadership And Innovation.

Esorougwe said the event, slated for April 12, 2018 at the Nicon Luxury Hotel, Abuja, would offer a forum for sharing ideas and networking among local and international leaders and experts, who will share best practices and tested solutions with proven results.

He stated that everyone should embrace best practice in quality management, pointing out that the success of any business would depend largely on recognition of quality in different levels of operations.

“Quality control is essential to building a successful business that delivers products that meet or exceed customers’ expectations. It also forms the basis of an efficient business that minimises waste and operates at high levels of productivity.

“Quality helps to win business from competitors who are not able to match standards and gives the opportunity to charge premium prices for superior products or services.

“It can also open new business opportunities in markets and sectors where quality is critical,” he added.
