The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, in a statement on Monday, said the police at the Idiroko divisional headquarters arrested the suspect.

He explained that the deceased’s father reported that the suspect came to his shop at the Ajegunle area of Idiroko around 2pm to buy cigarettes and his son attended to him.

According to the PPRO, around 10pm, the suspect returned and demanded N50 balance from Adamu.

He said, “This led to an argument between Adebiyi and Adamu, and in the course of the argument, the suspect descended heavily on the victim with fist blows, consequent upon which the victim collapsed and was rushed to hospital where he was confirmed dead.

“Upon the report, the DPO, Idiroko, CSP Shadrach Oriloye, quickly led his men to the scene, where the suspect was promptly arrested.
The corpse of the deceased has been deposited in a mortuary for an autopsy.
